Committees

Purpose
The Federal Policy Committee tracks issues relating to the funding of documentary editions by two federal agencies: the National Historical Publications and Records Commission and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The committee coordinates the ADE’s actions, usually in concert with allied organizations, on federal policies related to the support for documentary editions, access to documentary records, copyright and other issues.

Current Charge
The Committee will evaluate, comment on, and advise the Association for Documentary Editing of new initiatives as well as alterations in the strategic plans and programs offered by NEH, NHPRC, and other funding agencies.

Meetings
The Committee consults by mail, telephone and e-mail.
