Preserving the Past, Editing for the Future
Bringing historical records to life through expert transcription, annotation, and publication
Where History & Access Converge
The purpose of the Association for Documentary Editing is to support, facilitate, and promote the creation and use of edited texts and other acts of recovery through cooperation and exchange among those concerned with uncovering, contextualizing, sustaining, and preserving primary source materials, texts, and cultural artifacts.
The ADE is for professional editors, teachers, students, interdisciplinary scholars, librarians, archivists, genealogists, and others. Our community of practitioners is open to a wide range of disciplines, professions and backgrounds as the work of recovery and creation of editions is a multidisciplinary effort. Please join us!
