Dear ADE Community,
On August 8-9, eLaboratories—a project of the Center for Digital Editing at the University of Virginia—hosted its first annual conference, titled “Revolutions and Reflections.” The conference was preceded on August 3-6 by Camp eLabs, a hands-on course taught by Katie Blizzard, Christopher Ohge, and Serenity Sutherland. Two additional pre-conference workshops were offered on August 7: “Practical Strategies for Web Accessible and Environmentally Sustainable Digital Projects,” led by Erica Cavanaugh, and “Strategies for Finding Scattered Documents,” led by Cathy Moran Hajo. The conference itself featured sixteen in-person and hybrid sessions, as well as a poster session and reception held in the Dome Room of the UVA Rotunda. The presentations showcased a diverse range of work focused on making archival materials available and accessible and highlighted a broad array of innovative approaches to working with students and communities to preserve and expand the historical record.
