  3. Grant News: National Endowment for the Humanities Notice of Funding Opportunity

Dear ADE Members,

The National Endowment for the Humanities has released the notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the upcoming cycle in its Scholarly Editions and Translations grant program. This longstanding program supports projects that edit, annotate, translate, and/or publish “foundational humanities texts.” Potential applicants can read about the program, download the NOFO, and begin an application at https://www.neh.gov/grants/research/scholarly-editions-and-translations-grants.

Those familiar with this program should note the list of changes from past years. Two significant changes are the submission deadline of September 16, 2026, earlier than in past years, and the restriction of the competition to projects on American history and culture or Western civilization.

Questions may be directed to the NEH at editions@neh.gov.
