The recent issue of the Journal of the Text Encoding Initiative (Issue 9, 2016) includes an article titled “Towards a Model for Encoding Correspondence in the TEI” which is relevant to those involved with documentary editing. It provides recommendations on encoding letters with critical metadata, highlights the importance of the Model Editions Partnership, and discusses Correspondence Metadata Interchange (CMI) – a standard for linking personal names to established authority files.
