Editing the Eartha M.M. White Collection is a collaborative digital public history project based at the University of North Florida (UNF). We publish selected materials related to the life and work of African American businesswoman, philanthropist, and activist Eartha M.M. White, a central figure in the twentieth-century history of Jacksonville whose influence continues to impact the city’s present. Since 2016, over ninety students and community members have contributed to the transcription and online publishing of materials from the Eartha M.M. White Collection, held in UNF’s Special Collections and University Archives.

Editing the Eartha M.M. White Collection operates as a partnership between the UNF Department of History, the Thomas G. Carpenter Library and the UNF Digital Humanities Institute, with ongoing support from the UNF Department of English and World Languages and the UNF Center for Instruction and Research Technology.
