Free Workshop: Documentary Editing: A Hands-On Introduction (RSVP required)
As part of the conference programming, the Association for Documentary Editing and eLaboratories will offer a free introductory workshop, described below:
This workshop will provide an introduction to the print and digital publication of archival documents as a type of recovery practice. Topics covered will include defining project goals, audience and scope; transcribing and annotating archival documents; and key considerations for digital publishing, including how technical choices both can shape and be shaped by project goals.
This introductory workshop is designed for participants with no prior experience in document transcription, annotation or digital publishing. Participants do not need to have a specific project in mind. Workshop organizers will provide sample documents, but participants are also welcome to work with items of their own. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet for hands-on activities. Workshop registrants will receive additional technology recommendations by email before the event.
The workshop is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited to 25 participants. Advance RSVP is required.

Lunch Plenaries and Complimentary Boxed Lunches
Conference attendees are invited to participate in two lunch plenary sessions during the conference. Complimentary boxed lunches will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 100 attendees each day.
