REVISED CFP–REMOTE CONFERENCE
Call for Papers

Since many institutions and projects face reduced or uncertain budgets at the moment, the Association for Documentary Editing (ADE) will meet remotely starting at 1 p.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 16 through 18, 2025.

The business meeting and a soft launch of the new ADE website will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, with short sessions on June 17 and 18, 2025.

We will ask participants to register so that we can maintain a closed Zoom. The registration link will be available in April.

The Program Committee has received sufficient proposals for traditional panels and for posters. We now invite our members and friends to pitch lightning talks for a session that will be followed by a lunch-time (for the West Coast)/cocktail hour (in the East) opportunity for discussions like the ones we often have between sessions at in-person conferences.

We continue to welcome talks related to the theme of “Editing for Access: Audiences and Technologies” or any topic related to the editing, publication, and recovery of historical or literary texts.

Rather than traditional proposals, for the lightning talks we ask you to complete this Google Form by Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

We will charge a nominal registration fee of $30. This fee will be waived for ADE members as well as for students, early career scholars, and independent scholars.

We will continue conversations begun at the June conference with a series of talks scheduled for fall 2025 and spring 2026. Look for a CFP after Labor Day.

Let’s test our ability to replicate the pleasure of in-person meetings with a fresh approach online.
