ADE Conference 2024 Registration Open
Dear ADE Member,
We’re thrilled to announce this year’s 2024 conference registration is open! We look forward to seeing you at the Embassy Suites in Buffalo, New York, June 20th through the 23rd. The conference registration fee is $40 for regular registration, with a $20 reduced rate for graduate students, independent scholars, and retired individuals. If you are also interested in applying for one of the limited number of meal vouchers for graduate students, independent scholars, and retired individuals, please contact the program committee chair, Christy Regenhardt, at cregenhardt@gmail,com.
The program for “Collaborations” is already available on the ADE website.
As you look through the program you’ll notice a few updates from previous years’ formats.
- As a breakfast is provided for those staying at the hotel, we have moved our traditional “breakfast” speaker to a “lunch” presentation by leaders of the Haudenosaunee Archive, Knowledge and Resource Portal, Theresa L. McCarthy, Mia McKie, and Waylon Wilson.
- All events related to the conference, aside from excursions, will take place at the hotel. All excursions will include transport picking up and dropping off directly from the hotel. We hope this will facilitate greater ease of access.
- All conference panels and other events featuring speakers are happening on the first three days of the conference. The fourth day (Sunday) will include only optional excursions. This is to again facilitate ease of travel and access for participants.
- Optional excursions this year will include: a Friday evening guided double-decker bus tour of Buffalo historical sites and neighborhoods, and on Sunday morning the option of either a guided trolley tour of Forest Lawn Cemetery (including historical reenactors and ending near walking paths, two art museums, and a small historical museum) or a visit to Niagara Falls’ American Side (there you can access attractions on your own such as the Maid of the Mist boat or the Cave of the Winds; those with passports can walk across the Rainbow Bridge to the Canadian Side).
- This year, thanks to approval from the ADE Council and our conference sponsors, we will be able to offer significantly reduced registration fees: $20 for graduate students, independent scholars, and retired individuals and $40 for all other attendees. We will also be able to make available some meal vouchers for graduate students, independent scholars, and retired individuals.
We also encourage you to make your accommodation reservations by May 20 at this link: https://group.embassysuites.com/gs2dj7. Reduced room rates are $179 per night and include cooked breakfast, Wi-Fi, and 2 complimentary drinks and light snacks during a nightly guest reception 5:00-6:30pm. All rooms at the hotel are suites, including separate sleeping and sitting areas. The hotel is centrally located downtown within easy walking distance to many dining options and sites of interest. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the Buffalo Niagara International airport by car or taxi/ride service.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Buffalo, NY!
