Job Announcement: Editor of Publications, Colonial Society of Massachusetts

The Colonial Society of Massachusetts is seeking to hire a new Editor of Publications. Founded in 1892, the Colonial Society’s central mission is to publish authoritative editions of a diverse array of documents and other resources, in both print and digital forms, related to the early history of Massachusetts from colonization to c. 1830. The Editor of Publications has an important role in many aspects of the Society’s activities, including the printing of its Collections, preparing born-digital resources, conferencing, outreach, and reporting to the Society’s governing committees. This is a contractual part-time position, on average ten hours per week, with the possibility for expansion. Competitive starting salary, commensurate with experience. Applicants should have a post-graduate degree, preferably a Ph.D., in a field to which the early history of Massachusetts or New England is integral. Training or practical experience in digital humanities and/or historical editing strongly desired.
